The customer is advised to keep the acknowledgment of receipt of the order and the e-mail confirmation of the order on paper or electronically.
When an order equals an amount equal to or greater than €120, GIVENCHY retains a written record of the contract concluded between GIVENCHY and a customer electronically for a period between the conclusion of the contract and the date of delivery of the goods, and for a period of ten years from the date of delivery. All orders are payable in GBP and must be paid immediately upon placing your order. In the event of unavailability of certain Products ordered, the regulations described in Article 4 “Product Information and Availability” will apply.
6.2. Accepted payment methods
GIVENCHY accepts the following payment methods for purchases on the Site or by telephone through Customer Service: Visa®, MasterCard®, American Express® credit cards, PayPal, and Apple Pay
For telephone orders: the customer must confirm with Customer Service that he/she is the holder of the card that he/she is using, provide the card number and expiration date appearing on the front of his/her card, as well as the 3-digit security code appearing on his/her card
For orders on the Site: The customer must guarantee that he/she is the holder of the card used for payment. Credit card payments are authenticated and secured using the 3D Secure system. This device is also known as “Verified by Visa®”, ”MasterCard® SecureCode,” or “American Express SafeKey®.” During payment, the bank will request personal information from the customer in order to verify the identity of the cardholder and to validate the transaction.
How to pay with 3D Secure on givenchy.com
After validating his/her bank details (card number, expiration date, and security code), a new page will be displayed on which the customer will need to enter the personal information requested by his/her bank. This information may be:
- the answer to a personal question;
- a password previously selected by the customer;
- a code sent via SMS,
- the customer's date of birth, etc.
Once the 3D Secure code is entered and validated by the customer's bank, the order is finalized and the customer receives a message acknowledging receipt of his/her order. As authentication is specific to each bank, the customer is invited to contact his/her bank directly for any questions on the subject.
Confirmation and shipment of your order take place only after verification of the payment method and receipt of the authorization to debit the customer's card. Debiting of the customer's account will take place at the time of the validation of the order by the bank and therefore prior to the shipment of the order.
In any event, if for any reason the debiting of amounts owed by the customer proves to be impossible, the sale carried out by telephone will be immediately resolved and the processing of the purchase on the Site canceled.
The information in connection with the order is subject to automated data processing, for which CYBERSOURCE is responsible. The purpose of this automated data processing is to determine a transaction's analysis level and to combat credit card fraud. CYBERSOURCE and GIVENCHY are the recipients of the data relating to the customer's order. The non-transmission of the data relating to the order prevents the completion and analysis of the transaction. If there is an outstanding debt due to the fraudulent use of a bank card, the contact information in relation to the order associated with this unpaid amount shall be recorded in a payment incident file implemented by CYBERSOURCE. An irregular declaration or an anomaly may also be subject to specific processing.
The customer has, at any time, the right to access, rectify, and oppose all his/her personal data by writing, via mail and with proof of identity, to GIVENCHY - Customer Service - 159, avenue Charles de Gaulle, 92521 Neuilly-Sur-Seine cedex, France.

10. Right of withdrawal - returns, exchanges, refunds
10.1. Right and period of withdrawal
The Customer has a legal right of withdrawal which he/she can exercise under applicable law without having to justify reasons and without having to pay penalties. To ensure the satisfaction of its buyers and recipients of orders, GIVENCHY allows its customers to withdraw within thirty (30) days from the date of delivery of the Products, without having to justify reasons and without having to pay penalties. After this period, the customer may no longer exercise his/her right of withdrawal. If it is an order for several Products ordered and if the Products are delivered separately, the starting point of this period will be when the customer comes into possession of the last Product delivered.
10.2. Procedures for exercising the right of withdrawal
GIVENCHY offers its customers the option to fill out and submit their withdrawal statement online by logging on to their customer account or by contacting Customer Service. The Customer will then receive confirmation of his/her withdrawal by e-mail.
The customer may also, before the expiration of the aforementioned 30-day withdrawal period, use the withdrawal form located at the bottom of these General Terms and Conditions of Sale, or send any other clearly-worded statement expressing his/her desire to withdraw to the following address
GIVENCHY - Customer Service - 159, avenue Charles de Gaulle, 92521 Neuilly-Sur-Seine cedex, France
The right of withdrawal may not be exercised, in particular, for orders relating to the supply of goods that have been unsealed by the customer and that cannot be returned for hygiene and health protection reasons.
10.3. Consequence of the right of withdrawal
By exercising the right of withdrawal as set out above or in the event of any fault or error with the order, the customer may return the purchased Product(s) and request a refund under the conditions described in Article 11 and Article 12 below.
11. Terms of returns and refunds
To return the Products received, the customer benefits from a Product collection service at the location of his/her choice in UK . It will enable Givenchy to process returns more efficiently if the customer returns the delivered Products in their original packaging; complete (with boxes, accessories, covers, booklets, etc.) and accompanied by the return voucher and/or return number. The customer may be liable for products returned incomplete, damaged, deteriorated, soiled or in any other condition that has diminished their value beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functionality (i.e. what a customer may do in a shop).
It is stipulated that for orders delivered to third parties who are recipients of gifts ordered by a customer, from the Site or by telephone through Customer Service, only the customer who bought the gift may request the refund under the right of withdrawal set out above(to the extent that only the bank account of the person who ordered the product may be re-credited).
a) Free return procedure
The customer must contact the Customer Service Department (159, avenue Charles de Gaulle, 92521 Neuilly-Sur-Seine cedex, France) by telephone at 00 800 0000 1952 (toll-free number for any call made from UK, this term being understood as excluding Channel Islands and overseas territories.) as soon as possible and, in any case, within a period allowing for the return of the Product concerned of fourteen (14) days from the notification of the exercise of his/her right of withdrawal, in order to set an appointment (date and time slot) for the collection of said Product by GIVENCHY.
If the buyer exercises his/her right of withdrawal in accordance with the conditions set out above, he/she may obtain a refund for the Products returned.
The returned Product(s) will be examined by the GIVENCHY quality department. The customer will be notified of the refund, or the reasons for partial or non-refund, and the terms of returning the Product(s) by Customer Service within 14 days from the date on which it is informed of the decision of the customer to withdraw; this reimbursement may be deferred up to 14 days after receipt of the Products by GIVENCHY. The refund of the amounts paid for the returned Products will be made, via the same method through which the Products were paid for, by credit to the bank account corresponding to the bank card used for payment.
Please note, however, that your bank may have specific processing times when it comes to carrying out a refund on your card, depending on processing times. This varies among card issuers, and we are not in a position to accelerate this process, which is beyond our control.
11.bis No exchange
In the absence of any fault or error with the order, no exchange of Products purchased electronically or by telephone will be made by GIVENCHY, subject to statutory rights.
12. Legal warranties
GIVENCHY will deliver a Product compliant with the contract and free from nonconformity upon delivery of said Product, in the sense that the Product will be as described, fit for purpose, of satisfactory quality and be installed correctly (where installation has been agreed as part of the contract). If the Product does not comply with these requirements the customer has certain legal rights:
- Short-term right to reject
If a Product does not meet the requirements above, the customer is entitled to reject it up to 30 days after delivery unless the expected life of the Product is shorter (as with perishable goods). The right does not apply if the only breach relates to installation.
If the customer asks for repair or replacement during this 30-day period, the period is paused so that the customer has the remainder of the period, or 7 days (whichever is longer) to check whether the repair or replacement has been successful and to decide whether to reject the Product.
If a customer rejects the Product he/she can return it [in accordance with Article 11] and claim a full refund. A refund shall be given without undue delay and in any event within 14 days of GIVENCHY agreeing that the customer is entitled to a refund.
- Repair or replacement
If a Product does not meet the requirements above, but the customer has lost or chooses not to exercise his/her short term right to reject, he/she will be entitled in the first instance to claim a repair or replacement. Where a repair or replacement is claimed, GIVENCHY shall do this at no cost to the customer, within a reasonable time and without causing significant inconvenience.
The customer cannot choose one of these remedies above the other if the chosen remedy is either impossible or disproportionate as compared to the other. Also, once the customer has chosen a remedy, he/she must give GIVENCHY a reasonable time to provide that remedy.
The remedies fail if, after one attempt at repair or replacement, the Product still does not meet the requirements. The customer does not have to give GIVENCHY more opportunities to repair or replace, but can do so if he/she wishes. The remedies also fail if they are not provided within a reasonable time and without causing significant inconvenience to the customer.
- Price reduction & the final right to reject
If the remedies of repair or replacement are not available (i.e. impossible or disproportionate from the outset) or fail as set out above, the customer can choose whether to keep the Product and claim for a reduction in price or to reject it.
A price reduction shall be an appropriate amount, depending on all the circumstances. It can be any amount up to the whole price.
If the customer rejects the Product, he/she is entitled to a refund but this may be reduced to take account of any use the customer has had from the Product but no reduction shall be made: (a) only because GIVENCHY has delayed collecting the Product or (b) if the Product is rejected within 6 months of delivery.
Whatever remedy the customer chooses or ends up with, he/she may also be able to claim compensation for reasonably foreseeable losses that have been incurred.]
- The burden of proof
Other than in the case of the short term right to reject, if the defect is discovered within 6 months of delivery, it is assumed that the fault was there at the time of delivery unless GIVENCHY can prove otherwise or this assumption is inconsistent with the circumstances (e.g. obvious misuse).
If the defect is discovered after 6 months of delivery, OR in the case of the short term right to reject, the customer has to prove the defect was there at the time of delivery. Some defects do not become apparent until well after delivery, and in those cases it is enough for the customer to prove that there was an underlying or hidden defect at that time.
A customer cannot claim a remedy for: (a) for defects that are brought to his/her attention before the sale or if he/she examines the Product before purchase and any defects should have been obvious; (b) for damage he/she causes; (c) if he/she simply changes their mind about wanting the Product (other than under the 14-day withdrawal right above); (d) if he/she chose the Product for a purpose that is neither obvious nor made known to Givenchy and the item is simply unsuitable for that purpose; and (e) faults that appear as a result of fair wear and tear.
A customers can expect a Product not to fail prematurely, even if the reasonable life expectancy of it is several years. However, a customer cannot normally bring a claim to court more than 6 years after the breach of contract (usually the date of delivery in a contract for the sale of goods). This does not mean all goods have to last this length of time, but this is the time limit that the law gives a customer to take legal action.
For any information, claim, or question relating to these General Terms and Conditions of Sale or to the Products themselves, the customer should contact GIVENCHY Customer Service (159, avenue Charles de Gaulle, 92521 Neuilly-Sur-Seine cedex, France) by telephone: 00 800 0000 1952 (toll-free number for any call made from UK), or on the Site via the available form in the Customer Service “Contact” section, providing his/her order number if necessary.
14. Electronic Files/Privacy

This information, intended for persons authorized by their position to have knowledge of it within GIVENCHY and, where appropriate, for authorized third parties, is necessary for the processing and following-up of customer requests or orders, in order to better respond to their expectations and for the prevention of any fraudulent use of their means of payment or identity.
In accordance with the Regulations on the Protection of Personal Data (aforementioned "Data Protection Act,” European Data Protection Regulation of April 27, 2016 and any national law that may supplement it), any person whose data is the subject of processing has: the right, for legitimate reasons, to object to and access, as well as rectify, limit, or delete information concerning him/her that is no longer relevant; the right to portability; the right to object, at any time in the context of an opposition, to the use of the data for commercial purposes; and the right to convey instructions concerning the fate of his/her data after his/her death. These rights may be exercised according to the methods indicated in the Privacy and the Cookie Policies of this Site, accessible through the following link: the "Personal Data" and the "Cookie” Policies
15. Force Majeure
The performance by GIVENCHY of all or part of its obligations will be suspended in the event of circumstances beyond its reasonable control such as extreme weather, terrorism or strikes, which would hamper or delay its performance.
GIVENCHY will inform the customer of any such circumstances within seven (7) days of their occurrence. Should this suspension continue beyond a period of fifteen (15) days, the customer would then have the option to cancel the order in progress and he/she would then be refunded at the latest within 14 days from said cancellation.
16. Limitation of responsibility
In no event shall GIVENCHY be liable for any damages that are not a result of GIVENCHY failing to fulfill one of its obligations.
17. Language of the contract
For the convenience of customers, the Site and the General Terms and Conditions of Sale are available in four languages: French, English, Italian, and Chinese. However, in the event of a contradiction between the French version and another language version, the French version shall prevail. Only the French version of the General Terms and Conditions of Sale shall prevail between the Parties
18. Applicable Law – Disputes
These General Terms and Conditions of Sale shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with French law, but certain specific mandatory local rules may apply. In the event of a dispute arising from the application and/or interpretation of these General Terms and Conditions of Sale, the customer has the option, before any legal action, to seek an amicable solution with GIVENCHY and to have recourse with the CMAP - Center for Mediation and Arbitration of Paris, consumer ombudsman under which GIVENCHY falls.
